Chapter 17

Shadow hit the floor bleeding slowly from the wound in his chest and Sonic ran over to him .
“ NO NO !! SHADOW !! “
Sonic cried laying his head on Shadows chest. Kaze opened his eyes and tried to sit up but Scourge slammed his foot down hard on his back . Meph looked at Kaze.
“ your punishment will be just as sever Kaze I’m tired of all this nonsense.”

Sonic traced the stab wound and continued crying .
“ oh Shadow”
Suddenly the wound started to heal.  Shadow opened his eyes and put one finger to his lips to signal Sonic to be quiet. Sonic understood and continued crying.  Shadow looked at the situation Scourge was watching Kaze maliciously and Meph was getting ready to kill the dark green one.  Shadow got up and bolted at Meph  hitting  him hard in the back.  Meph flew and slammed into the wall hard. Scourge was to stunned and Shadow grabbed his throwing his into a different wall. Meph pulled himself up and looked to Shadow.
“ I killed you …”
Shadow glared at Meph and a chuckling started. Everyone’s  attention focused to Kaze who had pulled himself up to sitting on the couch.
“ you fool Meph… you have all the knollage of vampires you know how it works….. Only fire and  a vampires Sire can kill them……”
“ and I stabbed his heart. “  Mephiles Snarled.
Shadow couldn’t resist a small smirk as Kaze chuckled again.
“ idiot your not his sire……. I am “
The wheels started to click into place in Meph’s head.
“ you planned this “
“ ever since you killed Myst” Kaze replied.
Meph was about to say something else but Shadow attacked him. They both went at each other  trying to kill the other. But they were two immortals locked in combat in witch none had the advantage. Shadow backed up  and a scream was heard. Shadow looked and saw scourge had Sonic. Meph looked to .
“ do it Scourge. “
The lime one smiled and was about to kill Sonic when Kaze got up with new found energy and whipped out a sword cutting  Scourge across the face. Scourge screamed letting go of Sonic Kaze grabbed him and threw him to Shadow.
“ do it now Shadow!!”
Shadow Hit Meph away from me and held Sonic tight. He grabbed the lighted out of his pocket and clicked it. The flame burst onto the tip of the lighter and Meph and looked at it. Time slowed. Shadow let the lighter drop to the ground and backed away with Sonic. The lighter took forever to fall and finally it did it bounced a bit and the carpet caught fire. Instantly Sonics sent  filled the room as the fire began to swell eating the cleaning supplies trapped in the bowels of the carpet. Kaze laughed as the flames closes around him.  A wall of fire separated Meph and Shadow. But not Meph’s  angered glare.
“ SHADOW GET SONCI OUT !!” Kaze yelled over the blazing flames.
Shadow reacted fast  putting Sonics face into his chest to stop him from breathing in the dank smoke. Shadow was feeling the full effect of the fire as it licked at his fur . He ran to the door trying to get out but the fire had spread faster getting upstairs and Meph’s bed fell in front of the door.  Shadow picked Sonics up and held him closer.  Busting threw one window. The glass shattered in a ringing tone and Shadow felt it tear his back .
He rolled along the grass into the cool summer night as the fire consumed the house. Shadow was weakened by the burns  and the smoke filling his lungs , but Sonic was fine . Sonic peeled himself away from Shadows chest and watched the house crumble to smoldering ash.
“ so…. It’s over? “
Shadow coughed weakly in reply . Sonic hugs Shadow.
“ are you ok? “
“ I’ll …. Be …. Fine “
Sonic wasn’t convinced though .
“ Shadow you need to eat to get your strength back “
Shadow shook his head in protest.  Sonic hugged Shadow closer and puts his neck at Shadows lips.
“ it’s ok love just- “
“ no …. Sonic ….. I’ll kill ….. You”
Sonic closes his eyes,
“ I know”
Shadow didn’t want to but he wrapped his fangs around Sonics neck and bit hard.  Sonic held in a scream as Shadow began to drain him . Shadow could feel Sonic getting weaker but he couldn’t stop. Sonic went limp in his arms and stopped  breathing. Shadow stopped and hugged Sonic tighter as he began growing cold.

One  year later ……..

Shadow stood on the beach of a small island . He was alone . He picked up a smooth warm stone and skipped it across  the water . He sat on the warm sand and watched at the small rock skipped over the waves of the ocean and vanished in the setting sun.  He sighed. He was alone. A pair of warm arms wrapped around him and  a warm tongue rasped over his lovingly.  Shadow smirked and tilted his head back . His crimson eyes were greeted by the eyes of his one and only lover. Those beautiful emerald orbs  surrounded by shining sapphire. His one  and only Sonic .
“ hello love. “
Sonic nuzzled his forehead with Shadows.
“ hello sexy “
Shadow smirked and pulled Sonic onto his lap.  Sonic looked up to him and Smiled two white fangs  shining . Shadow smiled back showing his  fangs as well. Shadow pressed his lips to the blue ones sweetly  . Sonic kissed him back and they broke quickly  as Sonics tummy growled.   Shadow chuckled.
“ come on lets go hunting “
Shadow stood up and put Sonic into his back . Sonic clung onto Shadow and licked his ears again . Shadow smiled and purred running in to the jungle of their island.

One year ago …….


The smoldering remains of a house started to fade and turn into humble ash.  A dark crystal hedgehog emerged from the forest and kicked the ashes into the air. Scourge followed him dragging Kazes unconscious form .
“ now what Mephiles? “
Meph turned to Scourge.
“ we get our revenge….”
Scourge smirked .
“ and Kaze ? “
Meph looked at the pathetic green Hedgehog.
“ he will be of use to us we’ll keep him for now”
Scourge pouted.
“ why ? He’s the reason all of this happened. “
Meph smirked as gears started to turn in his head . And evil idea hatching.
“ yes and he will help finish it. “
“” how? “
Meph  looked back at Scourge and smirked darker.
“ tell me Scourge have you ever considered what happens with a few drops of poison and some kisses ? “
