Chapter 7

Shadow got home and went to the bedroom picking up the phone and  dialing the number on the paper . Sonic wouldn’t interrupt him . He was far to busy with his little angel. Shadow growled slightly . The phoned dialed twice and some one picked up .
“ hello ? “
“ Scourge? This is Shadow give the phone to Mephiles . “
“ he’s a little bus- what !? Hey ! ? “
“ Hello Shadow “
Shadow sighed.
“ hello Mephiles “
“ have you come to a decision yet ?”
“ no I want to talk to you meet me at the dock in one hour “
“ I’ll be there “
The phone cut off and Shadow made his way out of the house to the dock.  He knew soon he would have to have a talk with his former tormentor.

Scourge looked at Mephiles mad as he got dressed.
“ but Mephy it’s one of our special nights “ he wined like a child who doesn’t get ice-cream.
“ damn it Scourge if this goes well you’ll get plenty more special nights and blood so quit whining and help me find my shoes ! “ Mephiles growled at Scourge.
The emerald hedgehog sighed and picked up Mephiles shoes from under the bed.  Mephiles sat and started putting them on .
“ Mephiles ? “
“ What? “
Scourge hesitated for a moment before asking .
“ well…. I’ve been thinking ….”
Mephiles looked at Scourge compliantly.
“ about  what ? “
“ adopting a baby ….. “ Scourge said fast and folded his ears.
Mephiles was silent for a few minutes .  But he finally spoke .
“ if that is what you want dear “
Scourge looked at him with a huge smile and glomped him onto their bed.  Mephiles smiled and nuzzled Scourges neck .
“ let me up sweety I have to go “
“ ok I’ll look at agencies while your gone ^^ “
“ ok hun “ Mephiles said getting up and running out the door .
Scourge hugged his pillow happily. He was gona have a baby . He started thinking about it a bit . He didn’t want just any baby  now. He wanted  Silver .

Shadow watched as a black hedgehog closely similar to himself stopped at the dock.
“ your late Mephiles”
“ you can thank Scourge for that  , have you come to a decision? “
Shadow sat on the edge of the dock.
“ no I haven’t I want to keep the boy he’s growing on me but ….. The way Sonics acts it’s as  if -”
“ he doesn’t need  you ? “
“ yes “
Shadow looked into the deep blue water below him and watched the little silver fish swim about in the moon light . Mephiles put on hand on his shoulder.
“ Shadow just let me have the boy it will save you lots of time and a painful decision. “
Shadow considered it for a moment .  The kid would be gone Sonic would be his again . He liked the idea  but he had a promise to keep.
“ no …. no I won’t do that Mephiles …. Get off the island now!”
Mephiles holds in a growl and retreats to his boat .
“ one day Shadow you will call again and you will give us the child . “
“ keep dreaming “
Mephiles drove off onto the ocean , and Shadow walked home thinking .

Shadow arrived to find the house quiet. HE walked into  him and Sonics room . Sonic was curled up around Silver protectively and Silver was snuggled into Sonics chest. Shadow smiled at the angelic sight of the two . He slipped quietly into  bed and joined their cute snuggle.
