Sonadow chapter 14

Chapter 14

Sonic rushed to the old base as fast as he possibly could. He stopped just outside one wall and let Star down.
“we’ll have to find a do-” Sonic Started .
Star threw a few spears at the wall and opened a hole in it with a loud bang .
“found a door” She said.
Sonic hit her in the back of the head.
“ow what?”
“Now who ever it is knows we’re here .”
Star rolled her eyes and followed Sonic.  They were going forward in the base deeper into the maze of halls and rooms. Finally they opened a door and found a warehouse like room. There view of the entire room was block by the boxes inn there way, but finally they could see out to the middle of the room and saw Shadow dangling there. Star stepped forward and Sonic stopped her.
“no it’s a trap it has to be.”
“ duh”
She tried to go forward again and Sonic stopped her once more.
“stay here I’ll go.”
She sighed and Sonic went out to Shadow. He got him down and held the older hedgehog in his arms. He quickly put the inhibitor rings around his wrists. Shadow opened his eyes looking up at Sonic.
“…S-Sonic?” he whispered in a quiet voice.
“I’m here Shadow don’t worry.” Sonic whispered back.
Sonic put Shadows arm over one shoulder and started to help him walk out . But a cruel evil laugh made him turn. Standing on a balcony above them was the crystal demon  known as Mephelis the Dark.
“well well love is a very predictable thing is it not. Take half a heart and the other will follow” He whispered in the horrible cold voice.
“No your dead!” Sonic said getting scared.
“oh I can assure you Sonic I am very much alive.”
With that he threw an orb of purple energy at Sonic. Sonic normally would have been quick to doge but given Shadow’s extra weight
(Shadow: Hey is that a fat joke?
Me: Shadow we’re in the middle of a story complain at the end)
He wasn’t able to get out of the way fast enough. The blast caused a huge gash to open up on his chest and he cried out in pain dropping to his knees . Shadow stood weakly getting off Sonics shoulder. He tried to help Sonic up and got hit with an energy blast. Shadow lay on his back to weak from blood loss to do anything. Mephelis turned to Sonic.
“I had hoped this would have bee more of a challenge.”
Sonic stood up and tried to spin dash into Mephelises face but  the dark demon raised one arm and Sonic bounced off of it harmlessly. Sonic uncurled himself and stood looking at Mephelis  .  A hand taped Mephelis on the shoulder. He turned to see Star. She smiled a big corny smile.
“So you’re the bastard who tried to kill my brother”
She punched him and he backed up. She threw spears at him and he took the hits hard. The rain of spears stopped and Mephelis looked just in time to receive a swift kick to the side of the face. He went flying into a tower of boxes and  they fell on him. Star looked at Sonic.
“You ok?”
“for now”
She ran over to her brother who was sitting up now still bleeding.
“Shadow are you ok?” She asked wrapping him gingerly in a hug.
“Yeah I’ll be fine, but we have to find a way to stop Mephelis. “
“Shadow we don’t have the emeralds how are  we going to do that?” Sonic pointed out.
Shadow sighed and Star looked at him.
“No you can’t do that Shadow.”
Sonic looked confused.
“do what?”
“Star it’s our only option.”
“what is”
“No you haven’t tested it how do you know it won’t kill you?”
“that’s a risk we’ll have to take.”
Shadow and Star glared at each other and the pile of boxes Mephelis had disappeared under suddenly explode. All three turned to see a very pissed crystal demon.
“can you buy us some time?” Shadow whispered to his sister.
“with pleasure” she replied.
She jumped at Mephelis and they started to fight. Shadow turned to Sonic.
“ do you truest me?”
“ with all my heart. “
